Manufactured in 1862. "JM Woods" is inscribed on the butt. Includes a small chest/case containing a Grand Army of the Republic medal, steer head pipe bowl, pocket knife, pillbox, other personal items, "Leavitt's Farmer's Almanac No. 65" from 1861, and copies of documents relating to John M. Woods.
