The back strap is inscribed "John R. Stanton. London. March 1900." The factory letter confirms it was part of a seven gun shipment of Bisley Flattop Target revolvers in .455 caliber with 7 1/2" barrels and blue finish when they were sent to Colt's London Agency on March 30, 1900. Per Flayderman, only one hundred ninety-six .455 Eley Bisley Flattop Target revolvers were manufactured.
