OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

Description:

The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, and July 30, 1878 date of shipment to the U.S. Government Inspector a the Colt plant as 1 of 100 revolvers. The letter further states that it was likely shipped with a 7 1/2" barrel and walnut stocks, as these were standard issue of the period. With "H.N." (Harry Nettleton) inspection marks on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, left side of the butt, and cylinder.
