Description:

Manufactured in 1912. Inscribed "Presented to Brig General Charles Baron by Rex Bell Jr. Sept. 1971" on the right side of the barrel and "Gov. Rex Bell" on the back strap. It is likely that this revolver belonged to Rex Bell Sr., a famous Western actor and Lieutenant Governor of Nevada, before being presented by his son Rex Bell Jr., also an actor, to Charles Baron. Baron was a brigadier general in the Illinois National Guard and had connections to the Chicago organized crime syndicate, the Chicago Outfit.
