Description:

Includes consignor research and the article "Myths of the Blunderbuss" from "American Society of Arms Collectors Bulletin" 96:59-66 by Melvin Flanagan. The barrels were purchased in 2004 and manufactured by Ed Rayl. Barrels 1-5 are 4 gauge, and barrel 6 is 10 gauge. These barrels were used to test theories on blunderbusses and their patterns and showed that the shape of the muzzle of a blunderbuss does influence the patterns compared to a cylinder bore barrel. After the tests, they were mounted to the current carriage. Very good overall with minor storage type wear.
