Serial number dates to 1864. The receiver and buttplate feature extensive scroll and floral engraving with punch-dot backgrounds. Also features a blade front sight, rear sight graduated to 900 yards, "HENRY'S PATENT OCT. 16, 1860/MANUFACT'D BY THE NEWHAVEN ARMS CO. NEWHAVEN CT." barrel marking, and the serial number marked at the breech. Mounted with a nicely figured aftermarket straight grip stock with brass crescent buttplate.
