The letter lists it as a rifle in .44 caliber with an octagon barrel and plain trigger and as received in the warehouse on March 12, 1891, and as shipped on August 10, 1891, in order 8943. It was subsequently updated with elaborate engraving that includes detailed scenes of bison on the left and a pair of deer on the right.
