Description:

1) N.P. Ames "1847" dated U.S. Model 1840 Cavalry Saber with 35 3/4" curved blade, brass hilt, wire and leather wrapped grip, and iron scabbard. Fine with light patina along the blade as well as some nicks at the edge, aged patina on the hilt, moderate wear on the grip including some flaking of the leather, and dark mottled brown patina on the scabbard. 2) "1864" Dated New Jersey Contract Ames Mfg. Co. U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber with 35" curved blade, brass hilt, wire and leather wrapped grip, and iron scabbard. Fine with light patina on the blade, aged patina on the hilt, mild wear including crackling on the grip, and mottled gray and brown patina on the scabbard.
