PRF - PROFESSIONALLY REFINISHED OR RESTORED

Originally manufactured in the Imperial-era as a full length Gewehr 98 infantry rifle, and reworked by Steyr in the Nazi-era as a 98k. Steyr reworked rifles, particularly with "Death's Head/Totenkopf" stamps, are associated with concentration camp labor supervised by and made for the Schutzstaffel. "SS/Totenkopf", "26 38 BO" and "WaA623" on the barrel, "totenkopf" on the stock wrist, and a brown leather sling.
