Description:

The barrel is numbered "155567," and the upper tang has "C,5[hole]17[hole]" and what looks like a "1" below the second hole. Includes a factory letter for "154171" (C stands for 100,000) listing it as a Model 1874 Creedmoor Rifle invoiced on March 23, 1875, to N. Curry & Bro. of San Francisco in .44-90 with a 32 inch full octagon barrel and checkered pistol grip stock (with unique period copper encased repair) for $125 less 20 + 10% along with another rifle of the same type. The barrel is listed as from a Model 1874 Military Rifle invoiced on December 24, 1875, to A.J. Plate in San Francisco, in .44-90 for $20 less 10% for 20 Military Rifles, 10 in .4490 and 10 in .45-70.
