Description:

This large duck and goose gun was made in Birmingham in around 1880 by Thomas Woodward. Woodward is recorded as active in Birmingham from 1868 until circa 1890 before becoming manager of Holland & Holland’s London factory. With two stage browned damascus barrel, border engraved action with carved percussion fence, figured walnut semi-pistol grip stock with checkered grip and forearm. The forearm with horn cap, the butt with filled hole for a pulley to attach to a punt or bank gun frame. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection.
