Manufactured in circa 1880 this impressive duck and goose gun has a browned damascus barrel signed “W. WATSON & SON, 308 & 313 HIGH HOLBORN, LONDON”. William Watson & Son are recorded at 313 High Holborn from 1861 until 1882 when another son joined the company and the second address of 308 High Holborn is noted. Border engraved nickeled action with carved fence and rear sight, and nickeled rebounding backaction lock. Figured stock with rubber recoil pad, the butt pierced for a lanyard, and forearm with green horn cap. Weight 15 lbs. ½ oz. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection.
