Description:

Charles Frederick Jones is recorded as being active in London from 1822 at St. Katherine’s, from 1829 on Pennington Street before moving to 26 St. James’s Street in 1838 with additional premises at 32 Cockspur Street. His business closed in 1842 and it is likely this gun was manufactured around 1840. With browned damascus barrels, scroll engraved standing breech and locks, the latter signed "Charles Johns" within ribbons. Figured walnut half stock with checkered grip and forearm. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection.
