Manufactured in circa 1886-87, this is quite the rarity as proportionally very few small gauge hammerguns were produced, and of these few had long stocks. With browned damascus twist barrels with raised concave rib fitted with a bead front sight and signed “T. BLAND & SONS. 106. STRAND. LONDON.”. Unadorned action and non-rebounding back action locks each signed “T. BLAND & SONS”. Barrels and action struck with Birmingham black powder proof marks. Well figured straight hand stock with checkered grip and forearm, the forearm with scrolled horn tip. In brass cornered case with burr veneered compartment lids.
