The included Roe Clark letter lists it as a rifle in .303 Savage caliber with a round barrel. No date of acceptance was listed but it was shipped on 9 August 1898 to J.M. Killin & Co. of Colorado. There is light floral scroll engraving on the barrel at the breech.
