Manufactured c. 1901 using the Baker patent forearm ejector system (British Patent No. 17292 of 1896, use number 222 on this gun). Raised concave rib signed “W.W. GREENER. 62. HAYMARKET. LONDON. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS 1875, 1877, 1878 & 1879. GREENER’S WROUGHT STEEL”, numbered “2” of a pair, front bead sight, and engraved with scrollwork at the breech end. Bolstered treble grip action signed “W.W. GREENER” with Greener patent cross bolt and blued toplever. Greener side safety with inlaid “SAFE”. Border and scroll engraving. Birmingham nitro proof marks and Greener “Elephant” trademarks. Figured 13 1/2" walnut straight hand stock checkered dark horn buttplate, dark horn drop points, panels of multipoint checkering. and Anson push button release. Barrel measurements (R/L) modified/improved modified, proved at 17/17, measuring .667+/.666+, 2 1/2" chambers, minimum wall thickness 0.016/0.024. Weight 5 lbs. 14 oz.
