OE - GOOD - some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal legible; lightly scratched, bruised or minor cracks repaired; in good working order.

Description:

This early cartridge shotgun incorporates Joseph Needham’s patent of October 2, 1852, number 184 and was made in circa 1854. Rib signed “JOSEPH NEEDHAM & CO. 26 PICCADILLY. LONDON.” Swing out bolts at the breech end, engraved “BOLTED” where the safety catch pivots and signed “NEEDHAM’S PATENT NO. 922”. Deep trap for spare firing pins (hinged cover missing). London black powder proof marks. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection
