Dated "1917". With "1916" dated leather holster hand marked "Sergt. Schmidt." inside the flap and "Tkachuck/Roy" on the back. The included capture papers (dated June and December 1945) list the pistol by serial number and that the pistol was captured by Roy H. Tkachuck.
