Nine various U.S. lock plates including a New Haven Model 1841 lock dated "1853", Springfield Model 1842 lock dated "1849", Springfield Model 1847 lock dated "1851", Springfield Model 1861 lock dated "1862", Jenks Bridesburg Model 1863 lock dated "1865", Springfield Allin first type lock dated "1865", Springfield Model 1867 lock dated "1867", Springfield Model 1873 lock fitted with forward bar for Metcalfe system, Springfield Model 1884 lock. Other items in the lot include a display of five variations of Springfield Trapdoor rifle .45 breech blocks on a wood stand, two Metcalfe cartridge blocks each containing eight .45-70 cartridges and each with period paper seals/labels that say "CARTRIDGES/Bullet, 405 Grains./Made at Frankford Arsenal, January, 1876." and "8 RIFLE-BALL/Calibre .45.-70 Grains Musket Powder./Put up at Springfield Armory, Feb'y, 1876" (one is missing sections of the label), an early Metcalfe cartridge block containing eight .50-70 cartridges, fifteen multitools, Trapdoor mainspring vice, experimental .45-70 headless shell extractor, and an early Maynard tape primer device with 1944 dated P. Bouron Sons gun store tag attached stating it was taken off of one of the 200 Model 1840 Muskets that were altered for Confederate use during the Civil War with work originally performed by the P. Bouron Sons gun store in New Orleans, Louisiana. Items in fair to fine condition. Provenance: The George Moller Collection
