Description:

"1887" dated cartouche. The included Springfield Research Service letter lists this rifle as issued to private (later sergeant) Ebenezer Hemphill of Co. A of the 4th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish-American War. Also included are copies of some of Hemphill's service records. Includes a leather sling, M1873 bayonet, and scabbard with frog. Provenance: The Buckstix Collection
