Manufactured 1887. Inscribed in large font "J.B.M. TO J.W.H."; initials for James "Killin' Jim" B. Miller and Miller's cousin John Wesley Hardin. Included Howard pocket watch is inscribed "J.W. HARDIN/FROM/J.B. MILLER" and "APRIL/7th/1895." This set is a recreation of a similar marked Lightning (#84304) and Elgin watch that were part of Hardin's estate. With lightly tooled holster and shadow box containing copies of photographs related to Miller and Hardin. Hardin provided legal services on Miller's behalf during a murder trial. With Hardin's help, Miller was acquitted for the killing of Sheriff G.A. Frazer, but was later lynched in 1909 for killing a rancher.
