The folding counter-guard is inscribed "Presented to Lieut.E.S. Pierson by the/Phil. Reunion Guard/Feby 4th 1876". Neither Lieutenant Pierson or the Reunion Guard have been positively identified. Fair overall. The retention stud for the counterguard is absent, and the counterguard shows some deformation in the area.
