Description:

Measuring 27 1/2" OAL, the blade has a 15" long edge with a wavy hamon, attractive grain, and red-filled bo-hi grooves on each side. a copper habaki is installed, with a single mekugi-ana on the tang and a five-figure signature on the right side. With a gold lacquer accented saya. The included NTHK paperwork (certificate, envelope, and copy of worksheet) assigns the blade a score of 70 points, identifies the signature as "Settsu kami tada yuki" and attributes the work to about 1700. Very good overall, with some chipping/cracking of the saya.
