Description:

The cannon appears to be a scale replica of an M1857 12-pounder "Napoleon", except the carriage is metal rather than wood. There is a small touch hole at the rear of the tube. There are no visible markings. The tube measures approximately 18 1/4" from muzzle to cascabel, the bore measures approximately 3/4". The wheels have a diameter of approximately 13 7/8" and a wheelbase of 16". The metal carriage is finished in the typical green and black enamel of U.S. field guns. Very fine overall, the brass tube shows an attractive slightly aged patina and the carriage retains most of the enamel finish.
