These distinctive pistols were based on the designs of Frenchman Jacques Turbiaux from 1882 and mainly manufactured in the 1890s by the Ames Sword Co. under contract with the Chicago Fire Arms Co. The sideplate is a mismatched number replacement. The right grip panel is absent.
