Description:

"1863" dated lock. "Anchor/S" marking just ahead of the buttplate tang. The Tiffany & Co. New York imported Peter D. Luneschloss saber has an iron scabbard, black leather sword belt marked "GWA3", and Great Seal of the U.S. themed belt buckle. The sword and accessories are good with moderate age and storage related wear including dark brown patina on the metal. Includes a copy of documentation from John Spicer of Champion Hill Relics indicating the set came from a family in Randolph County, Arkansas, and was owned by George W. Allen of Company C of the Confederate 3rd Arkansas Cavalry and attributing the modification to the rifle-musket as from a Confederate arsenal for mounted use. Copies of records relating to Allen are also included.
