The rear sight and middle band were removed, and the barrel appears to have been bored out. "XX II TX" marked on the left stock flat. "CH/1" cartouche by the buttplate tang. Includes information from John Spicer of Champion Hill Relics attributing the markings to indicate this gun was Confederate modified and used by a Texas unit.
