Description:

This is an example of a late World War II Winchester M1 Garand rifle as sold through the DCM program in the late 1970s to a Rock Island Arsenal employee. It retains its original Winchester proofed World War II barrel along with the Winchester World War II locking bar sights. The remaining parts appear to all be of Springfield manufacture. It is fitted with an early gas cylinder, and Springfield operating rod and bolt. It is fitted with a late walnut buttstock and handguard set.
