Description:

Original 1910 era German offhand Schuetzen Rifle made by PISTOR & KOST of Schmalkalden, chambered in 8.15 x 46r. The firm of Piston's and Kost originated in 1745 in the German City of Schmalkalden, which was noted for its high quality hunting, military, and target firearms. The firm was liquidated in 1854 and eventually acquired by the Simon Brothers until 1927 when its doors were closed when the Hitler came to power. This is an original unaltered offhand rifle with German double set triggers with its original German Schuetzen rear sight with sight disk and pin head front sight. the barrel is marked "PISTOR & KOST SCHMALKALDEN" with "WHITTENER on the right and "GUSS STAHL on the left. Underside is marked with Prewar Crown/B., U., and G. proofs over the bore diameter, 6.18 (year made) over 628/WITTEN. It has a fine line engraving pattern on the receiver and barrel with rolled matte finish on top of the barrel, The 31 5/8 inch octagon barrel has a rebated chamber. Standard German walnut with Tyrolean pattern schuetzen stock, with double prong buttplate and forend. Comes with approximately 100 fire formed cases and several small bags of German stop-ring bullets.

Description:

Original Haenal Aydt Chambered in 8.15x46r. The top of the receiver is engraved and gold filled "HAENAL ORIGINAL AYDT" and has the 31 1/2 inch tapered blued barrel with a color case hardened action. It's missing its original breech block, however this lot includes an original Aydt replacement breech block that needs to be fitted. Fitted with a Swiss pattern Schuetzen buttstock and forend with the rear sight only (missing the front sight).
