OE - GOOD - some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal legible; lightly scratched, bruised or minor cracks repaired; in good working order.

Description:

The lock is marked "1863/TOWER" at the center and St. Edward's Crown without the "VR" below is marked at the rear indicating this was a commercial arm, not one accepted by the British government. Many British companies exported rifles for use by both the Confederacy and the Union during the American Civil War. Birmingham commercial proofed breech with two "25" bore marks (indicates .577 caliber). Modified rear sight. Includes reproduction socket bayonet (does not properly affix to the gun) and reproduction brass tipped leather scabbard.
