Description:

Manufactured 1894 and subsequently engraved and inscribed to very closely match the patterns engraved on a Colt Single Action Army which belonged to U.S. Marshall and legendary western lawman, Bill Tilghman. (The gun was referred to as the “Centennial Gun”. It was presented to Bill Tilghman by the citizens of Perry, Oklahoma when he was a city Marshall there in appreciation for his work. That gun is currently being displayed at the Gene Autry museum of the American West in Los Angeles.) It has 75% coverage Helfricht style floral scroll engraving and the inscription "FOR/WILLIAM TILGHMAN/DEC. 15. 93." on the back strap. With extensive documentation pertaining to Tilghman, the June 1977 issue of "Arms Gazette" featuring the original Tilghman SAA, and copies of an email chain from a former owner of the original revolver, stating that he had this revolver engraved by Ben Lane as an exact copy of the original as to not endanger the original revolver with travel to gun shows. The included factory letter lists this revolver with blue finish and shipped to Simmons Hardware Co. in St. Louis on 13 December 1894.
