Manufactured at Factory 26 in China in 1960, with documentation placing it as the Vietnam War trophy of a PFC Roger Toles of Company A, 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Division in January of 1967. Also included are copies of the paperwork for Toles' Army Commendation Medal with V Device in November 1966, the Bronze Star in January 1967, and the Bronze Star citation; in an incident just over a week after registering this Type 53, Toles' unit was caught in a friendly fire incident as they overran a Viet Kong position that had already been targeted for US artillery, supplying aid to his comrades wile injured himself, refusing aid or evacuation until the others were seen to first. Also included are a number of decorations in a shadow box.
