This is one of only two Bronze castings done by classic American Sculptor John H. Rogers (1829-1904). Rogers is known for his plaster images of early American life as well as Civil war characters. The bronze shows former President Abraham Lincoln with a remorseful and worried look as he faced the challenges of the Civil War as well as his domestic policy. The bronze is signed on the back "JOHN ROGERS/NEW YORK". The work rests on a circular marble plinth. It measures 9"x5"x4". Very good with storage and handling marks.
