Description:

Manufactured in 1878, the included factory letter lists shipment to the U.S. government inspector on 14 August 1878, "H.N." inspector marks on various components, "US" marking on frame absent. The included John Kopec letter notes the absent "US" marking and states that this revolver was likely issued to one of the various state militias and was later nickel plated by and sold through one of many surplus arms dealers, such as Francis Bannerman.
