These scopes were manufactured in 1945 by Optique & Precision de Levallois (OPL) in France for the U.S. Army and the M1903-A4 sniper rifles. It is marked "TELESCOPE M73B2/No 36520/O.P.L. FRANCE." A unique feature on these scopes was the illuminated reticle. When light shined through a glass window on the right side of the scope, the reticle turned from black to a silvery white. The scope used a Redfield 1903A4 base (not included). An estimated 500 were manufactured. Condition: Very fine with very nice optics, strong original finish, and minor age and storage related wear.
