The included factory letter lists blue finish, .45 Colt caliber, with barrel length and type of stocks "not listed" when sold to the U.S. Government and delivered to the U.S. Government Inspector at the Colt plant on October 24, 1884 in a 200 gun shipment. "U.S." marked on left of frame, "1884" above an oval script inspection cartouche stamped on the left of the grip, with a carved "X" on the bottom left grip flat. Top of frame and barrel modified for fitment of the later replacement Micro Sight Co. front and rear target sights.

Very good overall as refinished, with some patches of light pitting and freckling, and some handling marks and nicks in the grip. Mechanically excellent.
