The included factory letter lists this rifle in .22 Long with a 26 inch half octagon #1 weight barrel, plain trigger, shotgun butt, and extra drop when received in the warehouse on January 16, 1890, and shipped the same day on order number 7948. The consignor noted that this very unusual special order was "undoubtedly designed for quick shooting targets out of the air" and was likely a trick shooter's rifle.

Good overall with original finish, oxidation/pitting, mild wear, and some chipping by the upper tang. Mechanically fine.
