Description:

A revision of the original World War I stahlhelm, the 1940 Model reduced the skirt size for easier wear, improved the webbing, and replaced the "lug" vents with a simple grommeted hole. This example was upgraded with field-applied camouflage, with a mix of green, tan and brown paint applied to the exterior, and a harness of steel wire secured to the crown. The interior retains the original green finish, with "T1202" stamped in the rear of the skirt, leather webbing, and a faint marking on the chinstrap.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The exterior is in good condition, with rust on the wire and mild handling marks overall. the interior shows heavy pitting, with mild wear on the leather.
