Receiver ring marked with Chinese characters signifying "7.9 Caliber" (8 mm Mauser), circled triangle and five-pointed star Chinese arsenal stamps on either side of the stock. These rifles are discussed on p. 182 of "Military Rifles of Japan" by Honeycutt and Anthony where they state they were converted in the 1950s and 1960s.

Good overall retaining traces of the arsenal refinished blue, some scattered light surface pitting, and numerous minor-moderate handling marks in the wood as well as a hole drilled through the forestock.

Interlinked ring marking on receiver, smoothbore barrel, tape and plastic wrap on stock, barrel band retention spring not functioning. With canvas sling.

Fine overall with some original blue mixed with cold blue touch up, some scattered patches of light surface pitting/oxidation, and some scattered minor handling marks in the wood. Mechanically fine.

Mum, AA sights, monopod, and dust cover retained.

Good overall as refinished, with smooth grey/brown patina, spotting, pitting, and thinning. Mechanically excellent.
