Description:

The included letter from Atkin, Grant, & Lang lists the gun as a 12 bore sidelock ejector with 28" barrels, a 14 3/8" LOP, and weight of 6 lbs. 8 oz. when it was completed in 1891 for a General Ross and later owned by E. Bingham Esq., A. H. Dunmares Esq., and H. T. Underwood. A strong candidate for the General Ross in question is Brigadier General John Ross who served in the Crimean War and in India before his death in 1905. With an oak & leather case containing snap caps, oiler, and cleaning tools.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, professionally refinished with light handling evidence, minor subsurface pitting, and mostly grey action. Wood has wear at some edges and chipping. Case is good. Mechanically excellent.
