Description:

Manufactured c. 1860-1868. These items are attributed by the consignor as belonging to Allen M. Haight, who is listed in included information as serving as a musician in the 52nd Pennsylvania Volunteers from September 1861 until November 1864. A leather holster included with the lot is marked "A.M. Haight/Burlington/Pa" on the back in ink. An included tin type photograph of two Union soldiers appears to be a photograph of Allen and his brother Orlando, with Allen on the right holding a musicians sword and fife, and a revolver and knife tucked into his belt, which appear to be the knife and revolver in this lot. The knife is by Marsh Bros. & Co. with gilt floral etching on one side of the blade, and includes a leather sheath. Also includes a leather cartridge pouch containing some .22 RF cartridges.

Rating Definition:

Fine with much of the silver finish remaining on the frame and some very light surface pitting on iron. Mechanically fine. The knife and leather items are also fine showing mild wear typical of age. The photograph is very fine with crisp image.
