Jacques Penel of St. Etienne is identified in "Der Neue Stockel" circa 1729 to after 1800 and as the son of Antoine Penel. The government requisitioned his shop in 1794.

Good with an applied brown finish, original gold, reworked locks, splice between the entry pipe and trigger guard finial, and moderate overall wear, including some chipping and slivers absent from the edges of the stock. Mechanically needs work (right lock doesn't hold full-cock).
