Description:

Manufactured c. late 1800s to early 1900s by John Pound & Co. of London. John Pound became Lord Mayor of London in 1904, handing over the business to his two oldest sons. The maker's mark is on the front upper edge of the lower half of the case as well as on the German silver latches. The interior of the lid has a pocket and stirrups for items (likely brushes), and the lower half shows evidence of once having pockets or dividers. The initials "S.C." are marked on the exterior of the lid in black.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall with some scattered mild wear, light patina on the fittings, and almost all of the stitching remaining tight.
