Description:

"HENRY" marked lock. "C" marked on the left stock flat. "REN" in tacks on the right side of the wrist. John Joseph Henry (1786-1836), often listed as just Joseph Henry, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, manufactured a limited number of flintlock military pistols under government contracts in the early 19th century. The consignor indicated this example was from a Maryland contract in 1813. Provenance: The Cranford Dalby Collection

Rating Definition:

Good with dark brown patina, mild oxidation, some cracks and chips in the stock, and general moderate overall wear. Mechanically fine.
