Description:

Manufactured in 1948. Left side of the action inlaid with "Joe Foss" in silver script. Joseph Jacob Foss was an American Marine Corp pilot and the most successful American ace of World War II and received the Medal of Honor for his exploits before going on to serve as a Brigadier General in the Air National Guard, Governor of South Dakota, as well as being the President of the NRA. Another gun attributed to Foss is available in the following lot. Chamber marked 3", choke marked modified, and 13 7/8" LOP.

Rating Definition:

Very good, original with a mottled greenish hue, some thinning, some handling evidence, and a few dings in the stock. Mechanically excellent.
