Description:

The U.S. Model 1871 Ward-Burton was the first bolt action centerfire rifle used by the U.S. Military. Only approximately 1,011 were manufactured c. 1871 for U.S. military field trials. "JWK" (John W. Keene) and "ESA" (Erskine S. Allin) inspection cartouches are visible on the left side of the stock.

Rating Definition:

Good with light original case colors, light patina, minor oxidation, and generally minor overall wear. Mechanically fine.
