Description:

"1863" dated "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" marked lock, no barrel date, "J.J.J.J./.L." marked on the left quarter of the breech, two bordered script cartouches stamped on the left stock flat.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished, with a replacement barrel, replacement rear sight, scattered freckling, light pitting and wear. Stock is also good as sanded and varnished, with scattered scratches, dents, some chips, and a minor crack behind the barrel tang. Mechanically fine.

Description:

"1864" dated lock and "1862" dated replacement barrel assembly with "N.J" New Jersey marking on the left breech flat. Two bordered script cartouches stamped on the left stock flat, and initials "K.W.H." carved on the right of the buttstock.

Rating Definition:

Good as refinished, with worn lock markings, replacement barrel, wear and pitting visible underneath the finish. Stock is also good as sanded and varnished, with scattered scratches and dents, and a few repaired cracked sections visible. Mechanically fine.
