A) Very Scarce Cosmopolitan Percussion Rifle

Description:

Less than 100, possibly less than 50, believed to have been made c. 1859-1863 by the Cosmopolitan Arms Company in Hamilton, Ohio. A similar number of the carbines with the early style lock and lever were also made.

Rating Definition:

Good with original blue on the breech plate, silver-gray and brown patina on the balance, bore re-bored to smoothbore, and moderate wear including some chips on the stock. Mechanically fine.
