Description:

Grouping includes an M1 helmet liner (fiber construction, green painted exterior, blue-on-white III Corps insignia on front), German leather belt (with bayonet sheath and "GOTT MIT UNS" buckle), American pattern canteen with canvas belt pouch, OD green wool blanket, a "vehicle drape" style German banner (55 1/2" wide by 182" long, metal grommets in each corner and at the center of the long edges, single sided with a printed black swastika on a stitched white field), a variety of small patches and pins (including III Corps patches and Technician rank), an opened breakfast K-ration, and a number of photographs (both American and German), postcards, and other documents. Several of the documents are addressed to a Technician Eugene T. Swanson, born December 16, 1914, enlisted January 10, 1944 and honorably discharged on April 24, 1946. Per the records, Swanson spent the bulk of his military career as a field lineman with the III Corps, earning the Good Conduct Ribbon and ETO Ribbon with Campaign Stars for the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Germany.

Rating Definition:

Good overall. The vehicle drape shows some tearing and a number of grease/oil stains.
