Manufactured in 1945. Undated barrel chambered for an unidentified necked .22 caliber centerfire cartridge (possibly experimental .22 Carbine although unconfirmed) and marked "EXP." on the left of the breech and "USMC" on the right of the breech. This could possibly be an experimental example reconfigured for the Small Caliber High Velocity (SCHV) trials of the early 1950s. "USMC" is also marked on the fitted Lyman All-Weather Challenger scope and Weaver scope mounts. Type II barrel band, "IO" flat top blued bolt, "IO" two-rivet handguard, "IO" stamped inside the paratrooper stock channel, crossed cannons cartouche stamped on the right of the grip, Inland trigger housing, "T" hammer, "CM" flip safety, "E.I." magazine catch, "I" operating rod. Includes a green canvas web sling and oiler.

Rating Definition:

Fine as arsenal refurbished and subsequently assembled/reconfigured, with some light edge finished wear. Stock is fine with scattered light scratches and dents. Absent gas tappet piston, otherwise mechanically fine.
